MarineStar is the Thuraya marine satellite terminal ideal for leisure maritime market and fishing boats, it is also ideal for regional merchant fleets that need a backup alternative to radio and GSM communications. Moving away from the coast, the terrestrial connectivity in no longer avaiable and the MarineStar provides voice and data communication during navigation.
It features two easy-to-install elements: the omnidirectional satellite antenna and the Control unit with an integrated satellite telephone with a simple and intuitive interface.
The terminal complies with the international IEC 60945 standards for on-board electrical equipment; the antenna has IP66 protection rating, a high protection standard to withstand environmental agents, dusts and waves. It is possible to create Geofencing tracking and monitoring areas, with perimeter waypoints or navigation radiuses, with automatic position communication in case of exit from the tracks. The MarineStar supports voice, SMS and data connectivity in GmPRS, and different positioning systems are integrated - GPS, Glonass e BeiDou - and an SOS button, essential to communicate the GPS coordinates in case of emergency.
The GmPRS Data transmission (60/15 kbps download/upload) is only possible by connecting the device via the RS232 serial connector.
