The handset has IP65 protection rating, a high standard to withstand environmental agents, dusts and water jets, the degree of impact resistance is IK04 and the battery has a very long life, up to 160 hours in stand-by mode.

Inmarsat IsatPhone 2 supports voice, SMS and data connectivity in dial-up 2.4 kbps, the GPS positioning system is integrated - with the possibility of tracking - the bluetooth and an SOS button, essential to communicate the GPS coordinates in case of emergency.
